UDON GOLF RESULTS (Victory Pk) ( Wednesday 8th May)

Seven of us ( John Ward, Peter Hellery, Harry Farquhar, Cliff Saveall, Bent Knudsen, Graham Firth and myself ) teed off at 8 15am this morning at Victory Pk for our weekly Udon Golf round.

The weather was humid as a result of the rainfall the previous 24 hours and very draining for some of us ie Harry and myself who have been overseas the past weeks.

Our low number was probably to be expected based on the roll up recently. Hopefully once the weather eases more will return to play with the group.

The course was average with the greens sandy but probably there has not been enough rain recently to assist the sand settle down. Approaches to the greens are still very substandard and lots of GUR but at least they are making a genuine effort to remove the crab grass that made pitch and run shots almost impossible.

John Ward took the honours on the day with 35 points closely followed by Cliff Saveall with 33 points in second spot.

Closest to the pin winners on the two back nine par 3 holes were Bent and Harry.

Other scores were Harry 30,Graham 26,Terry 25,Peter 23 and Bent 22points.

Next weeks round will also be played at Victory Pk on Wednesday 15th tee off at 8 30am.
